Analysis, design and development of web-based systems and applications.
Implementation with Java, PHP, Perl, C, SQL, HTML, Javascript, task-specific languages and systems.
Cyberchart Multimedia GmbH
03.1999 - 10.2001
Cyberchart's main product was a system for data analysis and visualisation based on OLAP cubes fed with publicly available and licensed data. Unfortunately the company failed commercially, and now only traces of it can be found in the internet archive (www.cyberchart.de).
Cyberchart PerClick began as an application developed with Holos a now discontinued OLAP tool. Since Holos' web capabilities were limited, the frontend was re-implemented in Perl, and visualisation components in PostScript. Later, for version 2.0, the company moved away from Holos entirely, instead emulating the OLAP capabilites with plain SQL, and the application was re-developed in Java. The screenshots on the right are taken from the last version.
My responsibilites at Cyberchart were:
- Cyberchart PerClick, Versions 1.0-1.3: Re-design of the system architecture; implementation of the web application with integration of legacy components. Implementation of user interface, data visualisation component. Customer-specific port to AIX with re-implementation of the data visualisation component in C
Perl 5, HTML/JS, Postscript, C - Cyberchart Suite, Version 2.0: Architecture design, implementation of the application framework, component infrastructure and data visualisation component
Java 1.3, JSP/HTML/JS, Postscript, Perl 5
